Let's show off Waterloo!

Do you have a home or business on the RAGBRAI route, shuttle route, Crossroads area or Downtown? Spruce it up it in preparation for the expected 20,000 visitors to the Cedar Valley!

Now is the perfect time to catch up on your summer projects of cleaning, painting, repairing, etc. We want to make sure our visitors have a fun, memorable, aesthetic stay in Waterloo.

Waterloo RAGBRAI's theme is "Happy Trails Through Waterloo," and we're planning a western sub-theme, so some ideas for decorating include:

• Cowboy/cowgirl scarecrows
• Hay bales
• John Deere memorabilia

Are you interested in welcoming or sending off RAGBRAI riders?

The Hospitality Committee is looking for people to help with the Waterloo Welcome at the final mile of the route. We are looking for people to assist with the following tasks:

Wednesday, July 28

• Hang banners, flags and pennants
• Stake welcome signs
• Paint and decorate trails with stencils
• Set up larger decorations

Thursday, July 29

• Registration table for guests
• Hand out welcome items
• Set up for farewell

Friday, July 30

• Cheer on riders as they leave
• Tear down
• Clean up
