Cedar Valley Residents Invited to RAGBRAI Main Campground

WATERLOO, IOWA (JULY 23, 2010) – Waterloo RAGBRAI would like to invite the general public to the main campground on Thursday, July 29. Any member of the public wishing to come to the main entertainment area, located next to Lost Island Waterpark, should park at Crossroads Center and utilize the provided shuttle service. Busses will run from Crossroads to the main campground every 20 minutes starting at 10 AM Thursday, July 29 through 2 AM on Friday, July 30. Tickets will be available at designated RAGBRAI stops outside JC Penney, HyVee, and WalMart, otherwise riders can pay the regular fare. Shuttles with free tickets will also be running from the main site to downtown with stops at the Riverloop Expo Area and Lincoln Park.


Isle Casino Hotel Waterloo or Lost Island Waterpark customers are encouraged to, come from the South on Highway 218 to avoid heavy pedestrian traffic. Hess Road south near Crossroads will be closed to the public until the Shaulis Road intersection. Shaulis Road will be open but it is recommended that the public avoid this area if at all possible due to heavy RAGBRAI traffic.


Waterloo RAGBRAI entertainment will begin at the main campground at 5 PM through midnight. Downtown entertainment will be provided in Lincoln Park from 11 AM until 6 PM. Family fun and entertainment will be at the Riverloop Expo Plaza as part of the Grout Museum District’s Summer Bash Science Circus fom 10 am to 8 pm.
